Carla C. Hoffmann, 76, Loogootee

Carla C. Hoffmann, 76, of Loogootee, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. 

She was born at Jasper on January 28, 1943, to Martin and Viola (Poe) Schiller. She married Robert Hoffmann on October 20, 1962, at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. 

Carla was a graduate of Dubois High School Class of 1961. She worked as a secretary for the Jasper Rubber Products for six years also worked for the Daviess-Martin County REMC where she did meter reading for 22 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville where she taught Sunday school for many years and member of WELCA of Christ Church. Loogootee –Shoals Tri-Kapa where she served on many committees. She did a lot of volunteer work for local nursing home and funeral bereavement dinners.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hoffmann; two daughters, Elizabeth Raney, (Jeff) of Alfordsville and Mary Baker (Ken) of Bedford; one son, David Hoffmann (Emily) of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary, Kierstin and Kennedy; three step-grandchildren, Alexia, Kennedy and Jace; two sisters, Gerry Burton of Bardstown, Ky. and Sharon Hoffman (Nelson) of Jasper; one sister, Joan Freyberger-Harker of Loogootee; two stepbrothers, Lowell Dorsam (Sue) of Haysville and Russell Dorsam of Haysville.

Preceding her in death is one sister, Ruthann Stahl. Funeral services for Carla Hoffmann will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, in Christ Lutheran Church with burial to follow in Community Cemetery in Haysville. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m Friday, July 12, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

American Legion Auxiliary Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Women Moose Lodge # 1175 Memorial service at 6:15 p.m., WELCA memorial service at 6:30 p.m. all Friday, July 12, 2019, at the funeral home.
