Carl C. “Junie” Giesler Jr., 77

Carl C. “Junie” Giesler Jr. age 77 of Jasper passed away at 11:48 p.m. Thursday at his home of cancer.

He was born in Jasper to Carl J. “Bun” and Wilma (Brown) Giesler. He married Linda Vogler on October 26, 1957 in Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper.

Junie owned and operated Giesler’s Tavern for 39 years on Jasper’s north side.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Jasper Knights of Columbus, Jasper Outdoor Recreation and friends of Cabby O’Neill gymnasium. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School Class of 1952.

Junie was a great story teller and avid sports fan.

Funeral services for Carl “Junie” Giesler Jr. will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday (September 26, 2011) in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Ireland.

Friends may call from 11-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
