Car strikes juvenile on Jasper sidewalk

A juvenile pedestrian was struck by a car near the Jasper Middle School Monday afternoon.

Police were called to the report of the crash at about 3:56 p.m. They determined an 85-year-old resident operating a 2011 Toyota Camry traveling southbound on Portersville Road went off of Portersville Road for an unknown reason. The car went onto the sidewalk and struck the juvenile.

Both the driver and pedestrian were treated and released on scene by the Dubois County Emergency Medical Services.

The driver was cited for failure to obey signs and markings.
