Can’t miss show — David Wayne and His Opry Gang plus Barbara Fairchild
Elvis is in the building — or he will be when the Huntingburg Event Center presents David Wayne
and His Opry Gang on Saturday, October 14.
In addition to Elvis (or a reasonable facsimile), the featured performer for this extravaganza
will be Barbara Fairchild, who has starred at the Grand Ole Opry, on the Ralph Emery Show and HeeHaw and worked with Mel Tillis. She also had her own show in Branson, Missouri.
Fairchild is probably best known for her hit country ditty “Teddy Bear Song” and other country favorites.
She will be joined by a plethora of favorites, including Kurt Petry as Buddy Holly, Gayle Parks as
Cousin Minnie, Tammy Crynette, plus Isaac Corley and Jay Michaels, as well as Fairchild’s piano accompanist, Tim Atwood, who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry over a thousand times. Angie Robins will also perform as Patsy Cline.
In addition, the man behind the Opry Gang, host David Wayne will be on hand to perform his new song, “I Never Heard It Like That,” which is climbing the Top 40s Country Indie Charts and being played throughout the nation.
According to Wayne, that kind of success at age 60 is unheard of.
NOTE: Yes, David Wayne is 60 years old.
Wayne is working with J. Gary Smith, a Nashville producer who took musicians Andy Griggs and
Steve Holy to number one.
Tickets for this family-friendly evening of entertainment are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. Doors at the Huntingburg Event Center open at 6 p.m. with the show at 7 p.m., and snacks are available for purchase.
Wayne says this will be the final show of 2023 and is not to be missed by anyone who loves to be entertained. Proceeds benefit the Huntingburg Events Center.
