Call for artists to help decorate Jasper Mayor’s office

Jasper Mayor Ryan Craig, in partnership with Jasper Arts, is accepting proposals from artists interested in creating a commissioned artwork for display in the Mayor’s office at Jasper City Hall.

Craig wants to transform a wall in his office into a vibrant, inviting space that reflects the spirit of the community, creating a visually engaging, one-of-a-kind backdrop for visitors, community members, and virtual meetings. Artists working in any medium, including 2D and 3D works, are encouraged to submit concepts, provided the piece can be safely installed and removed without permanently altering the wall.

The display area is approximately 9 feet wide and 8.5 feet tall, with an optional depth of up to 1 foot.

There is no submission fee, and the opportunity is open to artists who live or work in Dubois County. The selected artist will receive a $1,000 cash prize, privately funded by Mayor Craig; the project will not use City of Jasper taxpayer funds. The winning artist will also receive public recognition for their contribution to the Mayor’s office.

Artists should submit three images of their concept, along with a written description, online or by email. Submissions are due by October 25, 2026, and can be completed at jasperarts.org/mayorcallforartists. Craig will review all submissions personally, with selected artists notified by November 9, 2026.
