Brian Patrick Matheis, 44

Brian Patrick Matheis, 44, of Jasper, passed away at 1:13 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Brian was born in Jasper, Indiana on July 19, 1971 to Patrick and Jane (Jochem) Matheis. He married Sheila Marie Gehlhausen on November 1, 1997 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, Indiana.

Brian was a 1989 graduate of Jasper High School. He worked for 18 years as a Materials Damage Coordinator at Farm Bureau Insurance in Jasper. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper. He enjoyed restoring cars, drag racing, fishing and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Marie Matheis of Jasper; two daughters, Ashley and Emily Matheis, at home, Jasper; mother, Jane Neeley and her husband Ben of Bedford; father, Patrick Matheis and his wife Debbie of Jasper; one brother, Brady Matheis of French Lick.

Funeral services for Brian Patrick Matheis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
