Brian J. Boyer, 60, Jasper

Brian J. Boyer, 60, of Jasper, passed away at 2:59 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Brian was born on March 16, 1957, in Vandalia, Illinois to Bernard and Colleen (Chinnock) Boyer.  He married Renee Whittington on September 2, 1978, at Lincoln Boyhood Memorial Chapel.

He worked for Kimball International for twenty-eight years and also worked as an EMT for Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He enjoyed riding his recumbent bicycle, and also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, archery, the martial arts, loved animals, flying in airplanes and flying model airplanes, and spending time with his two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Boyer of Jasper; one daughter, April Lawton (Jonathan) of Brownsburg; one son, Joey Boyer (Ellie) of West Lafayette; two grandchildren, Hayden and Brenden Boyer; two sisters, Mary Boyer Israel (Richard) of Hartford, Conn. and Peggy Boyer Cowens (John) of Oregon; two brothers, Mike Boyer (Jackie) of Michigan and Kevin Boyer (April) of Jasper; mother- and father-in-law, Doris and Bill Whittington of Jasper.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Danny Boyer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Brian J. Boyer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
