Brent Rasche wants to help businesses and communities succeed
Brent Rasche launched a FocalPoint Business and Leadership Coaching earlier this year with the goal bringing his decades of global executive experience to help local leaders build stronger teams and healthier businesses.

The Mariah Hill native now offers comprehensive business coaching services, including leadership training, strategic planning, and succession planning, to companies throughout Dubois County and the broader Southern Indiana region.
Rasche’s passion for people came about soon after he graduated from Heritage Hills and headed to Purdue to pursue a degree in engineering.
“I saw how much a positive professor — and later, a strong leader — could impact success. That sparked a lifelong pursuit of leadership growth,” Rasche explained.
Rasche’s career path led him through multiple companies and leadership roles globally before he reassessed his priorities following the COVID-19 pandemic. He and his family decided to return to Southern Indiana for the next chapter in their lives.
The decision to enter business coaching came after years of observing the demands of senior leadership positions.
“Senior leadership roles typically demand a tremendous time commitment, and over the years I saw how that pressure can strain relationships and personal priorities,” he says. “For me, family became a greater focus, and at the same time my passion for people and their growth became crystal clear.”
A pivotal moment came when Rasche read “Halftime” by Bob Buford, which explores the concept of moving from “success to significance.” This perspective led him to explore ways to help other leaders make similar journeys while building stronger teams, healthier businesses, and more balanced lives.
FocalPoint Business and Leadership Coaching serves clients with varying needs and goals. Rasche’s approach begins with identifying leaders or business owners who have a strong desire to significantly improve aspects of their business or personal life.
“Every client is different: some focus on personal development, others on setting a strong strategic plan, and some on maximizing business value for retirement or succession,” he said. “Whatever the goal, we set a path with a clear ROI.”
Most clients come through referrals or LinkedIn connections. The process emphasizes building trusted relationships before establishing formal coaching partnerships.
“From there, we get to know each other — because a trusted relationship is key, both for me and for the process I use,” Rasche explained.
The transition from leading large organizations to running a solo consulting practice has provided valuable insights. Rasche has discovered that fundamental leadership principles remain consistent regardless of organization size.
“Whether you’re leading a business of 10,000 or a business of one, delegation is the key to maximizing results,” he said. “And when you’re a business of one, building with external resources becomes even more critical.”
Rasche has found that effective leadership coaching transcends specific industries. Success depends more on aligning with passionate leaders than on particular business sectors.
“Leadership coaching is largely business-agnostic,” he explains. “The real difference comes from aligning with leaders who are passionate about their business and their people — that’s when results come quickly.”
The most successful clients share certain characteristics, particularly their willingness to adopt new perspectives. “The leaders who benefit the most are those willing to shift from a scarcity mindset to one of abundance, giving generously with the confidence that long-term gains will follow,” Rasche said.

For Rasche, business coaching represents more than individual client success. He views his work as community development, believing that successful businesses form the foundation of thriving communities. This community focus stems from witnessing the broader economic impact when businesses struggle and the impact on communities.
“We all play a role in creating strong communities that attract talent and leave a legacy for the next generation. This is my part,” he said.
The most rewarding aspect of his work comes from witnessing client transformation, seeing leaders and business owners turn the corner and embrace their calling.
“I see so much opportunity with my clients,” Rasche said. “The key to lasting success is often the same: letting go of the vine and building capability through others.”
Today, Rasche and his wife, Ronda, live northeast of Ferdinand on the family farm. They are celebrating 20 years together and have a daughter, Kiersten, who recently graduated from Forest Park High School and began studies at the University of Southern Indiana.
