Updated: Birdseye residents told to report low water pressure, check for leaks

Update: As of Tuesday, the town found several leaks and notified residents of those issues.

The Town of Birdseye is advising water customers to check their properties for potential leaks.

Town Water Operator Joel Schwartz reported on the Facebook page Birdseye IN Happenings & Events that the town has been using about double the amount of water it usually does over the past week.

Schwartz said he has checked the main lines in town and hasn’t been able to locate any leaks, so he’s asking residents to check their crawl spaces and basements for water leaks. He also said to be suspicious of a leak if you are experiencing low water pressure.

Schwartz also said the advisory applies to all water customers east of the One Stop, excluding Kings Street, which is serviced by a different line.
