Billie Ray Rice, 88, Richland

Billie Ray Rice, 88, of Richland, passed away on January 8, 2018.

Billie was born on April 12, 1929, in Huntingburg, to Ray and Carrie (Phillips) Rice.

Billie was a carpenter with the Indiana Carpenter’s Local, a Korean War veteran, a member of Bethel Christian Center and the American Legion in Holland. He enjoyed building furniture, quail hunting and gardening. He was also a church greeter and worked with the Cookin’ for Jesus Ministry.

Billie is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce (Daugherty) Rice; and sisters Betty Doan and Emma Lou Davis.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Roxie Sullivan of Richland, Patty Niswonger and her husband, Jerry, of Madisonville, Kentucky, Gina Lueken and her husband, Gene, of Dale, and Vicki Abell of Henderson, Kentucky; brothers, Don Rice, Ernie Rice, Tony Rice, Mike Rice; sister, Bobbie Jones; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Bethel Christian Center in Reo, with Pastors Walter Phillips and Mark Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Garrison Chapel Cemetery in Heilman.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
