Billie R. Hamilton, 83
Billie R. Hamilton, 83, of Marana, Arizona, formerly of Augusta, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his residence in Arizona.
He was born July 1, 1931 in Stacer, Indiana, to Rollie E. and Velma (Memmer) Hamilton.
He married Dorothy Jean Carlisle on May 21, 1952 in Buckskin, Indiana.
Mr. Hamilton was a retired preflight engineer for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington, where he worked for 33 and a half years. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal, the Masonic Lodge #260 F&AM in Winslow, the Order of the Eastern Star #391 in Winslow, both the York and Scottish Rites, and the Grotto Association. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951-1953.
He was preceded in death by: one brother, Robert Hamilton; and one sister, Vivian Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean Hamilton of Marana, Ariz.; three daughters, Marilyn Houser of Bellevue, Wash., Gail Rabe of Tacoma, Wash., and Mary Deal of Winfield, Kan.; two sons, Steven Hamilton of Marana, Ariz. and William Hamilton of Tacoma, Wash.; three brothers, Charles Hamilton of Somerville, Ind., Donald Hamilton of Mt. Carmel, Ill., and John Paul Hamilton of Evansville; three sisters, Mary Abbott of Oakland City, Margaret Ross of Francisco, and Martha Lou Short of West Salem, Ill.; by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Billie R. Hamilton will be held at 2:00 p.m., EST on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Augusta Cemetery in Augusta, Indiana. Masonic rites will be conducted at the graveside service. Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the burial arrangements. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.
