Betty Romine, 79, Dubois

Betty Romine, 79, of Dubois, passed away on October 7, 2025.

She was born March 1, 1946, to Oris and Thelma (Reed) Cox in Algiers, Ind.

Betty graduated from Otwell High School Class of 1964. She worked for Crane Army Base for 28 years before retiring in 2012. She loved fishing, quilting, golfing, and her beloved dogs. She enjoyed getting away to Florida every winter.

Betty is survived by her husband, Frank Romine; daughters, Rebecca Workman, Regina (Wayne) Martin, Roberta (David) Oster, and Rachelle (Jason) Wise; stepchildren, Sonny Romine, Kelly Romine, and Millie (Scott) Gondeck; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Denny Cox, Harold Cox, and Bobby Cox; sisters, Barbara Guy, Bessie McClellan, Darlene Pauw, and Robin Bath; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Brentley A. Workman; and a stepson, Louie Romine.

Services for Betty will take place at 2 p.m. EST on Monday, October 13, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. EST until service time. Pastor Gary Arnold will be officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg.
