Betty L. Wenzel, 89, Jasper

Betty L. Wenzel, 89, of Jasper, passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Betty was born in Holland, Ind., on January 5, 1929, to Albert and Louise (Weitkamp) Tormohlen. She married Albert Wenzel on January 9, 1947, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2005.

Betty previously worked at Jasper Desk and General Electric.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet Wenzel and Jeannette Wenzel, both of Jasper; one son, Jim (Marilyn) Wenzel of Jasper; three grandchildren, Abby (Jace) Brescher, Jaymee (Zach) Cannon and Tara Wenzel and fiancé, Andrew Fleck; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Stork, Piper Brescher and Zoey Cannon; three sisters, Annette Kahle of Findlay, Ohio, Phyllis Luker of Huntingburg and Darlene (Dave) Smith of Holland; one brother, Eugene (Julie) Tormohlen of Lawrenceville, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty L. Wenzel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday.
