Betty Jane (Sternberg) Jochim, 90, Huntingburg

Betty Jane (Sternberg) Jochim, 90, of Huntingburg, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017, at her home in Huntingburg.

She was born on December 6, 1926, in Huntingburg to Edwin J. Sr. and Edna (Boyd) Sternberg. She was united in marriage to Clements P. Jochim on December 3, 1978, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

She and her sister, Virginia “Jinny” Bartley, worked together at Dr. Stork’s medical office in Huntingburg. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, enjoyed gardening and was very good with flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clements, on February 22, 2014; and sister, Virginia “Jinny” Bartley.

She is survived by her brother, Edwin Sternberg, Jr., Huntingburg and nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass for Betty Jochim will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The mass will be celebrated by Fr. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday; a parish rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
