Betty J. Purl, 90, Petersburg

Betty J. Purl, 90, of Petersburg, passed away on September 15, 2024, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

She was born July 13, 1934, to James and Grace (Masters) Shepherd in Glezen, Ind.

Betty was a longtime member of the Glezen Revival Center Church. She loved family gatherings and cooking for her family and at the church.

Betty is survived by her sons, Randy (Suzy) Purl, Mark (Phyllis) Purl, and Damon (Tammy) Purl; daughter, Cathy (Kenny) Robbins; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Purl; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.

Services for Betty will take place at 2 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with visitation from 1 p.m. EST until service time. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
