Betty J. Epple, 81
Betty J. Epple, age 81, of Jasper, Indiana passed away at 4:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.
Betty was born on October 24, 1932 in Tell City, Indiana to Edward and Loretta (Gratzer) Blandford. She married Leon L. Epple on January 27, 1951 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tell City, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2006.
Betty was a homemaker and worked at Dairy Queen, 3-D, and WalMart.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Sodality.
She enjoyed sewing, bingo, crafts, and playing cards.
She is survived by two sons, Stan Epple, and his wife Cheryl, of Jasper and Scott Epple, and his wife Holly, of Celestine; four daughters, Karen Norman, and her husband Marshall, of Palmyra, Va., Kathy Froehle, and her husband Michael, of Liberty Township, Ohio, Kristine Effinger of Evansville, and Kelly Lehmkuhler, and her husband Glen, of Ireland; 14 grandchildren, Leesa Norman, Ryan Froehle, Kimber Effinger, Matt Norman, Megan Froehle, Andrea Effinger, Brad Epple, Jared Epple, Ethan Epple, Madisyn Lehmkuhler, Emily Epple, Nate Lehmkuhler, Sam Lehmkuhler, Elaina Epple; four great-grandchildren, Alivia Embry, Abigail Embry, Liam Effinger, William Mayfield; one sister, Donna Labhart, and her husband Butch, of Utica, Ky.; three brothers, Earl Blandford, and his wife Ruth, of Tell City, Don Blandford of Shelbyville, Ky., and John Blandford, and his wife Marge, of Evansville.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, are two brothers, Laverne and William Blandford, and one sister; Sr. Mary Martha, OSC.
Funeral services for Betty J. Epple will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church.
