Betty (Elizabeth) Kieffner, 88, Jasper

Betty (Elizabeth) Kieffner, 88, of Jasper, passed away Sunday evening at her home.

She was born on August 17, 1929, in Jasper to Bernard and Frances (Burke) Rees. She married Leo G. Kieffner on September 27, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2004.

Betty retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper where she worked as a certified nurse assistant (CNA) for many years. Betty is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and the St. Anne Society.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Kieffner of Jasper, Judith Kieffner of Ferdinand and Sharon Rose Fulcher of Jasper; five sons, Thomas Kieffner of Jasper, Steven Kieffner (Pina) of Destin, Fla., Randall Kieffner (Tammy) of Jasper, David Kieffner (Deb) of Jasper and Bradley Kieffner (Sherri) of Ferdinand; 12 grandchildren, Jessica (Fulcher), (Eddie) Luegers, Jackie (Rajashekar) Kumaram, Jeremy Fulcher, Kara (Seth) Lanman, Danielle (Jake) Gish, Eric (Abigail) Kieffner, Gina Kieffner, Wyatt Kieffner, Morgan Crutchfield,  Wade Kieffner, Kristine Probst and Elizabeth Hansen; five  great-grandchildren; Ellis, Jayla, Cole, Ella and Noah; one sister, Edna Mehringer, Jasper, IN

Preceding her in death besides her husband are three brothers; Robert, Clarence and Claude Rees.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.  St. Anne Society will hold a rosary at 9:00 a.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
