Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa January meeting minutes

Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary sorority for women educators, met on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Holy Family Fellowship Hall.  The guest speaker was Adam Meece who explained how to use an AED for emergency situations.  Meece also shared instructions on using CPR.  Meece has been a firefighter for twelve years.

  Ava Widolff brought a guest, Kelsey Hernandez, a student teacher.

Chaplain Pat Seger gave the devotion “Life is Like a Book”.  The minutes, sent out ahead of time, were approved with a motion from Sandy Miller and a second from Marie Patton.  Secretary Sue Ann Burns read correspondence from Karen Terwiske, Denise Schroering, Paula Peter and the Dubois County Museum.  Sandy Miller thanked everyone for the donations for the cookie walk.  Altruistic Paula Peter announced altruistic forms are due by the end of February.  Susan McGovern and Paula Peter performed a skit on purses.  Members are to bring big purses with lots of items for a “who has got what” fundraiser.  Courtesy Stella Bennett sent a silk yellow rose and card to Denise Schroering on the loss of her father.   Kathy Bachman and Paula Peter received cards on the loss of family members.  Membership Chairman Brenda Hurm is still working on Dolores Lueken and Margaret Buechler’s limited status.  Ways and Means Chairman Sandy Miller brought shirts to view for purchase.  

The June summer outing will be at Alcohol Acres at Patoka.  The members will experience wine tastings , slushes from the distillery, and a tour of the beer brewery.   A date will be announced later. 

Members are to bring in items to the February meeting such as tissue,  candy, lotion, etc. to take to our members in nursing homes or to those who cannot be here for meetings.   Members will also be bringing in items for the State Convention basket during March and April.  The convention will be April 17-18.  Necrology reports need to be back to Pat Seger .  Please sign off on correct information.

The next meeting will be Thursday, February 12.  The program wil be the fundraiser with Paula Peter.  The meeting closed with the singing of the “Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa”.
