Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa holds February meeting

Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary sorority for women educators, met on Thursday, February 8, 2026, at Holy Family Fellowship Hall.

The program involved a big purse fundraiser, organized by Paula Peter.  Members brought big purses, filled with many items.  Paula listed certain items with monetary amounts.  After the listing was finished,  members paid the amount owed.  This activity was fun and allowed members to actively support ADK.

Chaplain Pat Seger gave the devotion on “February’s Chill”.  Secretary Sue Ann Burns read the roll call with twenty- six members present.  Minutes, sent out ahead of time, were approved after Stella Bennett made the motion to approve them with a second from Sandy Miller.  Treasurer Brooke Elrod renewed the scholarship fund to 3.8%.  The treasurer’s report will be filed for audit.  Paula Peter announced the altruistic report form is due by the end of February.  Courtesy’s Stella Bennett sent a yellow rose to Beth Meece upon the death of Beth’s mother.  For Fraternity Education Shelley Weinzapfel gave members a word search for Valentine’s Day.  Membership’s Brenda Hurm announced International dues must be paid in order for Margaret Buechler and Dolores Lueken to keep their “Limited Status”.  Academic Grant winner is Sydney Schmidtt according to Brooke Elrod.

Several members wore new purple jackets that Ways and Means Chairman Sandy Miller had ordered.
