Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa April meeting minutes
Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary sorority for women educators, met on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Holy Family Fellowship Hall. Members enjoyed refreshments provided by the April Fellowship Committee of Paula Alles, Denise Schroering, Karen Terwiske, and Jessica Mehringer.
The first order of business was to vote for new officers for the 2026-2028 year: President – Ava Widolff; Secretary – Kathy Bachman; Treasurer- Booke Elrod; Historians-Shelley Weinzapfel and Jessica Mehringer; Membership – Brenda Hurm; and Chaplain – Beth Meece. The Nominating Committee, which came up with the roster, was Marie Patton and Pat Seger.
The guest speakers for the afternoon were Camilla and Matthew from Total Care ABA in Jasper. They shared how the organization provided care and management for those young people who have autism.
The business meeting began with Chaplain Pat Seger reading “How to Support Teachers Through the End of Year When Days Get Long.”
Secretary Sue Ann Burns gave the roll call with twenty-five members present. Minutes, sent out ahead of the meeting, were approved after Barb Kendall made the motion to approve with a second from Susan McGovren. Treasurer Brooke Elrod’s report is filed for audit.
Fraternity Ed Shelley Weinzapfel handed out a paper for members to draw “What Kind of ADK Member Am I?” Membership head Brenda Hurm has not heard about Margaret Buechler or Delores Lueken’s membership standing from headquarters yet. Academic Grant head Brooke Elrod announced that Sydney Schmitt, scholarship winner, had also won state.
Nine people have signed up to attend the June outing on June 11 at Alcohol Acres. Members are asked to decide which events they want to explore. Members will meet at 10:00 behind Fazoli’s.

The next meeting will be Thursday, May 14, at the Holy Family Fellowship Hall. The program will be “Share Your Style” of recipes, sewing, and/or books and authors.
The meeting closed with the singing of “Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa.”
