Baseball travelogue visits League Stadium, tours Dubois County
American Ballpark Road Trip, a YouTube-based travel show, released the series’ latest episode featuring the Dubois County Bombers and League Stadium, among other community sites and businesses, on Friday, Dec. 15.
The full episode is now available and free to view on the American Ballpark Road Trip YouTube
channel or at the following link: https://youtu.be/zdWbaf9CiBk?si=0gUhL9-qUvDWVWx2.
“We were extremely excited to showcase a historic ballpark in its own right, in a league of its
own, so to speak, and one of the best-operated collegiate summer teams I’ve encountered in
my years working in and reporting on baseball,” said Nick Carey, executive producer and host of
American Ballpark Road Trip.
Footage and interviews at League Stadium were recorded at a July 2023 game during the
Dubois County Bombers’ celebration of “A League of Their Own Night.”
Outside of the ballpark, the episode features segments highlighting Huntingburg’s Historic 4th
Street District, Marshall’s Mancave, Old School Cafe, Jasper River Centre, The Spirit of Jasper
and the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame. The episode is 30 minutes in duration and dedicates the
first half that runtime to community attractions and the other to League Stadium and the
Bombers’ game.
“Dubois County was truly an adventure for our crew from the two hours we spent seeing the
Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame, taking in the Bombers game, meeting team owners Justin Knepp
and Barton Lewis, along with so many really wonderful locals and business owners all weekend,”
concluded Carey.
A previous two-part episode of the series showcased Bosse Field in Evansville, IN and the
Evansville Otters during that club’s “A League of Their Own,” promotional night during the 2022
season.
Inspired by week-long road trips to minor league baseball ballparks with his grandfather
beginning in 2008, Carey launched American Ballpark Road Trip in 2021 as a YouTube-based
travel series to showcase baseball teams of all levels of play, their home ballparks and unique
surrounding communities. Previous episodes of the series have highlighted baseball facilities
and communities in Georgia, Missouri and Puerto Rico. For more information visit ABRT’s
