Barbara Sue “Barb” Kocher, 65

Barbara Sue “Barb” Kocher, 65, of Jasper, Indiana passed away at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at home.

Barb was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 23, 1949 to Fritz and Betty (Loehr) Dewig. She married Richard E. Kocher on October 7, 1972.

Barb had previously worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Jasper Nursing Center, Good Samaritan Nursing Home, and Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Care Unit. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Christ Renews His Parish at Holy Family Catholic Church, and the Stephen Ministry Program. She enjoyed baking.

She is survived by her husband, Rich Kocher of Jasper; one daughter, Debbie Schnell, and her husband, Roy, of Jasper; two sons, Mike Kocher of Jasper and Allen Kocher of Denver, Colo.; two grandsons, Nathan and Brandon Schnell; her mother, Betty Dewig of Evansville; two sisters, Sr. Judy Dewig, OSB, of Evansville and Louise Schaad, and her husband, Mike, of Owensboro, Ky.; one brother, Don Dewig, and his wife, Lorna, of Jasper; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her father, Fritz Dewig and one brother, Kenneth Dewig.

Funeral services for Barbara Sue “Barb” Kocher will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church. The Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Holy Family will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m.
