Barbara O. Hackmann, 64, Huntingburg

Barbara O. Hackmann, 64, Huntingburg, passed away at 11:35 a.m., on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born March 21, 1952, in Doolittle Mills, Indiana to Elbert and Olive (Huff) Ball and was united in marriage to Louis Henry Hackmann, Jr. on June 20, 1970, in Birdseye.

Barbara was a homemaker. She was a member of Nicholson Valley Christian Church. She loved spending time with her pets, especially her dog Lulu. She also loved working on her flowers and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Othella Enlow and Kathy Ball; and two brothers, John Ball and Ricky Ball.

She is survived by her husband, Louis “Hack” Hackmann, Jr. of Huntingburg; one daughter, Shannon (Jason) Shafer of Petersburg; two sons, Michael (fiancé, Shellie Johns) Hackmann of Birdseye and Christopher (companion, Sally Keusch) Hackman of Huntingburg; five sisters, Mary Shrout of English, JoAnn Crecelius of Marengo, Lois Hensley of Eckerty, Gladys Redden of Taswell and Donna Ball of Velpen; four brothers, George “Tom” Ball of Eckerty, Roger Ball of Doolittle Mills, James Ball of Doolittle Mills and Delbert Ray Ball of Doolittle Mills; three grandchildren, Maggie Shafer, Makennly Shafer and Dakota Hackmann; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Tewalt and Axl Spradlin.

Funeral services for Barbara Hackmann will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Nicholson Valley Christian Church located west of Hillham on Highway 56, twelve miles east of Haysville.  Burial will take place at Foster’s Ridge Cemetery in Uniontown, Indiana. Reverend Albert Madden will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nicholson Valley Christian Church from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. The Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. All visitation will take place at the church.
