Barbara M. Gehlhausen, 76, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:58 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.

Barbara was born in Jasper, Indiana on December 24, 1938 to Leo and Rose (Jahn) Vonderheide. She married Eugene M. Gehlhausen on November 15, 1958 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

Barbara retired from Aristokraft Cabinet after 35 years of service. She also worked part time at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and their Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

She enjoyed gardening and flowers, playing cards, and spending time with grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene M. Gehlhausen of Jasper; two daughters, Annette Tuell and her husband Brian of Jasper and Lori Schepers and her husband Brennan of Jasper; two sons, Scott Gehlhausen and his wife Debbie of Jasper and Patrick Gehlhausen and his wife Jane of Jasper; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Her twin sister, Leona Gehlhausen of Jasper, Elfreida Mehling and her husband Ralph of Jasper, and Clara Pickett and her husband Daniel of Brownsburg.

Preceding her in death was one sister, Catherine Kersteins.

Funeral services for Barbara M. Gehlhausen will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.

Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Holy Family will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m.
