Barbara A. Henning, 85, Ferdinand

Barbara A. Henning, 85, of Ferdinand, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.

Barbara was born on March 7, 1941, in Ferdinand to Edward and Mary (Young) Ruhe.

She was united in marriage to Jacob “Jack” Schuetter on February 7, 1959. Jack passed away on August 15, 1978.

She then married Tracy Henning on November 25, 1984. Tracy preceded her in death on December 23, 2018.

Barbara was a lifelong member of St. Ferdinand Parish. She retired from Mobel Inc. in Ferdinand. Barbara enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Chris (Shawn) Becher and Connie (Dave) Spinner, both of Ferdinand; two step-children, Misty Henning Logston of Louisville and Keith Henning of Jamestown, N.C.; sisters, Rose (Bob) Bottorff and Alice (Joe) Garland, both of Jasper; brother, Jim Ruhe of Ferdinand; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Maxine Schuetter and Angie Schwenk, both of Ferdinand; one son-in-law, Jeff Roller of Mount Vernon.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janet Roller; and three sons, William “Bill” Schuetter, John Schuetter, and George Schuetter, who died in infancy; two brothers, Ed and Tom Ruhe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and will continue on Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:30 a.m.
