Bacon-wrapped goodness to benefit Next Act’s fundraising efforts

As an end-cap to Jasper’s O’Tannenbaum Days, Next Act, Inc., will hold a pork chop dinner fundraiser on Sunday, December 4.

Each meal will include a 10-ounce-bacon-wrapped pork chop, a baked potato, creamy coleslaw and Amish bread. Meals will be available for pickup at the Matrix Integration parking lot between the hours of 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. (eastern).

The meals are being prepared by Ferdinand Processing, are $15 per, and available for purchase in advance at http://www.TheNextAct.org, directly via this link , by phoning 812-566-1935, or by contacting a member of the Next Act’s board of directors.

All net proceeds will benefit the 501c3’s ongoing effort to raise much needed funds to renovate the historic Astra Theatre.

“O’Tannenbaum Days is always a special time in and around Jasper,” said Leslie Hamby, Next Act’s chairperson. “We hope that many of you choose to take advantage of this delicious ready-to-eat meal—as well as the opportunity to not cook—and, in doing so, get us one step closer to a fully-renovated Astra Theatre.”

Next Act, Inc., learned late in the summer of 2016 that the Astra had been selected to receive $400,000 in historic preservation funding from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, most of which will go toward repair and replacement of the building’s major infrastructure. Funds raised from any of the Astra’s upcoming events, including this pork chop fundraiser, will go toward interior renovations that will include, but aren’t limited to: opening the balcony, installing an accessible first floor restroom, expanding the concessions area, and the purchase of new audio/video technology.
