A night of dining and dancing, complete with both a silent and live auction and all sorts of other festive entertainment? Courtesy of Ferdinand News What constitutes a hero? Are they born or do circumstances make them such? While that may be a tough question to answer, recognizing heroics in action is not difficult. Two Ferdinand Police officers displayed their heroism on November 5, but it’s doubtful either one thought about being a hero when they jumped in and…
The most interesting piece of information came at the end of the Ferdinand Town Council’s inaugural meeting of 2016. Town Attorney Bill Shaneyfelt explained he had been approached by Steve Wahl with Best Home Furnishings, who wondered if the town would be interested in selling some remnant property near Industrial Park Road and 23rd Street,…
It was a night for adopting ordinances and for wrapping up business for the year. The Ferdinand Town Council met in regular session for the final time in 2015, on Tuesday night (December 15). They began by hearing departmental reports and learned that this Friday, December 18, would be the last day for curbside leaf…
While he didn’t show it, in all likelihood Ferdinand Fire Chief Dan Lindauer was on cloud nine during the Ferdinand Town Council’s Tuesday night meeting. He sought three administrative changes for his department Tuesday night, citing the impetus behind his decisions. First, he asked to make Sgt. Brian Seffernick the assistant chief, noting his associate’s degree in law enforcement, four years of supervisory experience over 3-20 staff members, various certifications…
It’s big. It’s beautiful. And it’s ready to host a party! The brand new Comfort Inn on the south side of Ferdinand opened its doors on March 16, but management wanted to have everything as functional as a well oiled machine before setting a date for the grand opening. With nearly six months under their belts they are ready to throw open the doors….
