Augusta M. Jochum, 94
Augusta M. Jochum, age 94, of Huntingburg, a resident of St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper for the past nine years, passed away at 12:25 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
She was born August 17, 1917 in Ferdinand, Indiana to Clement and Anna (Gehlhausen) Brinkman. She was united in marriage to Martin W. Jochum on September 17, 1935 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand.
Mrs. Jochum worked alongside her husband on the family farm near St. Henry for many years. She also worked at Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasper for 21 years and at A Kid’s Place in Huntingburg for 8 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality.
She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and reading. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Martin W. Jochum, who died May 21, 1979; and three sisters – Clara Lange, Ida Lange, and Rosa Petry.
She is survived by:
One son and one daughter-in-law,

One daughter and one son-in-law,
- Mrs. James (Ann) Harder – Jasper, IN
by (6) grandchildren, (10) great grandchildren, and (2) great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Augusta M. Jochum will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Monday, April 16, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Huntingburg.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday. A parish rosary and a prayer service by St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
