Arvin J. Sellers, 79, Loogootee

Arvin J. Sellers, 79, of Loogootee, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

He was born at Evansville, Indiana on March 7, 1939, to Paul D. and Madeline (Apler) Sellers. He married Ruth Ann Braun on January 29, 1965 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Montgomery, Indiana.

Arvin served in the Indiana National Guard and retired from Construction Local Union #561, Evansville, Indiana. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and a former member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Whitfield and the National Plott Hound Association for over 50 years.

Arvin was an avid bear and raccoon hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Sellers; one daughter, Christina Hawkins of Hawesville, Ky.; three sons, John Lincoln Sellers of Loogootee, Scott Alan Sellers of Columbus and Kelly Sellers of Cannelburg; grandchildren, Audry, Danielle,
Briar, Graci and Molli, Willis and Mary; two brothers, John Sellers (Beverly) of Columbus and Mike Sellers (Kathy) of Indianapolis; two sisters, Paulette Quinn (Ray) of Martinsville and Judeanne Wilson of Santa Clarita, Calif.; also several stepbrothers and stepsisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.
