Arguing couple arrested for underage drinking
Huntingburg — A couple were arrested after police received a report of a “walking” domestic on First Street Tuesday evening.
Officers were dispatched at about 10:30 p.m and located a couple walking south on Geiger Street just south of First Avenue. When police met up with the couple, they determined that 20-year-old Gabriel McNitt of E. First Ave., and 19-year-old Cierra Castaneda of Flora St., Prescott, Ariz., had been in a verbal argument and had also been drinking.
Police tested the couple with a portable breath test and determined that McNitt’s blood alcohol content was .07 percent and Castaneda’s was .10 percent.
Officers arrested them for C misdemeanor minor consuming and transported them to the Dubois County Security Center.
While at the security center, McNitt was making noises and disrupting the book-in process. Officers warned him that he could face additional charges if he continued to disrupt the process but he refused to stop and was subsequently charged with B misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the incident.
