Anthony “Tony” R. Hassfurther, 56

, 56, of Ferdinand, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015, in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center, Jasper.

He was born January 12, 1959 in Jasper, IN. to Linus & Darlene (Hasenour) Hassfurther.

Tony was a former construction worker for several companies in the area, and a farmer. He enjoyed horses, and horse drawn farm equipment, thrashing wheat, storytelling and jokes. He was a member of Early Days Antique Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Amanda Koch and husband Aaron of New Boston and Ashley Kellems and husband Jesse of St. Meinrad; parents Linus and Darlene Hassfurther of Ferdinand; three grandchildren, Logan Hockenberry, Jacob Hockenberry and Vanesa Kellems; two sisters, Sheila Fleck and husband Cliff of Jasper and Cindy Hassfurther of Ferdinand; three brothers, Russell Hassfurther and wife Tina, Bill Hassfurther, and Andy Hassfurther and wife Brenda all of Ferdinand; seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, in Saint Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand is in charge of arrangements.
