Anthony “Tony” Goeppner, 83

Anthony “Tony” Goeppner, age 83 of Jasper, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Monday (March 4, 2013) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, IN.

Tony was born on June 9, 1929 in Ireland, Indiana to Andrew and Fidelia (Hurst) Goeppner .  He married Mary Ann Jahn on September 19, 1956 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.  She preceded him in death on February 13, 1997.

He was a farmer  and self-employed carpenter and  brick mason for most of his life.  He was an owner in AR&E Builders for over 15 years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising fruit trees.

Surviving, one son, Daniel Goeppner of Jasper; one sister, Marcella Fleck of Ireland; and one brother, Ray Goeppner, and wife Glenda of Jasper.

Preceding him in death are three sisters, Bertha Haas and two who died in infancy, and two brothers, Herbert and Emil Goeppner.

Funeral services for Anthony “Tony” Goeppner will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday (March 7, 2013) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (March 6, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
