Anthony N. “Tony” Auffart, 77

Anthony N. “Tony” Auffart, 77, of Ferdinand passed away Tuesday January 13, 2015 at 3:37 am in Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center.

He was born September 26, 1937 in Ferdinand to Martin & Henrietta (Bachman) Auffart. He married Jeanette Reutman on September 10, 1966 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Anthony was a retired purchasing agent at DMI Furniture & Jasper Seating Co. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish and the St. Joseph Sodality. He was also a member of the Ferdinand Community Center. He served in the Indiana National Guard. He enjoyed woodworking & farming.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Auffart; two sons, Daryl Auffart and his wife Cathy of Ferdinand and Brian Auffart of Terre Haute; three daughters, Renee Fehribach and husband Brett of Ferdinand, Tricia Young and husband Chris of Otwell, and Nicole Auffart and fiance’ Mike Peragine of Warren, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Tempa, Kalley, David, Rylee, Cosette, Beckett, Conner, Keena, and Kahle; one sister, Mary Heberer of Ferdinand; one brother, Joseph V. Auffart and wife Lyra of Jasper.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Auffart; two sisters, Ruthie Auffart and Emma Jean Reutman; two brothers, James H. Auffart and Robert Auffart.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Friday in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
