Anonymous tip leads to cocaine-dealing arrest

Acting on an anonymous tip about drug activity, the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Jasper resident on cocaine-dealing charges Wednesday.
At about 11 a.m., the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department made contact with Charles A. Forrest, 46, at an apartment at 1705 Greene St.
After viewing drug paraphernalia in plain view, deputies asked for consent to search the apartment. Forrest refused.
Deputies then sought and were granted a search warrant from Dubois Superior Court.
The Jasper Police Department joined deputies in the search and located packages of cocaine, methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, marijuana and paraphernalia.
Police charged Forrest with a Level 4 felony count of dealing cocaine, Level 6 felony counts of cocaine possession, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance and misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
