Anna Mae Gosman, 98, Jasper
Anna Mae Gosman, 98, of Jasper, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.
Anna Mae was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 13, 1919, to Cyril “Toots” and Christine (Thompson) Haller. She married Arthur Martin “Marty” Gosman on October 7, 1941, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1998.
She was a graduate of Jasper High School and a proud varsity cheerleader. Anna Mae, along with her husband, owned and operated Gosman’s Family Shoe Store in Huntingburg. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. She was a very proud charter member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Jasper. She was an avid golfer, who often quoted: “I don’t hit em far, but I hit em straight”. She also enjoyed reading and watching golf on TV.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Taylor (Robert) of Jasper and Connie Dunbar (Jerry) of Madisonville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Marti Luken, Tami Strack and Emily Daugherty; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kendyl Strack, Jack and Carter Luken and Parker and Colton Daugherty; one sister, Beverly Hoffman of Georgetown, Ind.; one brother, Donald Haller (Janet) of Tell City.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was one brother, James Haller and a sister, Betty Jane Haller who died in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Mae Gosman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Psi Iota Xi Summer Reading Program, or to the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand.

I can well remember your Mother from the many times she helped me with my shoe buying at your family’s store & from all the ballgames which she came to support the Happy Hunters, when Connie(You) & I were cheerleaders together!
