Anna M. Heeke, 98

Anna M. Heeke, 98, of Tell City, passed away Mon. July 20, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
Anna was born October 1, 1916 to Joseph and Adeline (Massey) Braunecker in Uniontown, Ind. She married Fred Heeke on April 14, 1934 on Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Croix.
Fred preceded her in death in June of 1973.
Anna was a cook at Perry Central High School as well as a homemaker. She belonged to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia as well as its St. Anne’s Sodality. Anna was an Oblate of St. Meinrad Archabbey. Anna was an avid quilter who donated many quilts to her church. She loved playing cards, especially euchre.
Anna was always willing to help others in need and enjoyed doing so. Spending time with her grandchildren was also very special to her.
Anna is survived by four sons, Patrick Heeke and wife Mary Jane of New Boston, Francis Heeke and wife Martha of Evanston, Daniel Heeke and wife Sharon of Bristow, and James Heeke and wife Kate of Troy; four daughters, Alberta Hanners, Shirley Sullivan and husband Roger all of Louisville, Ky., Rosemary Lagrange and husband Joe of St. Croix, and Rita Lagrange and husband Allen of Tell City; thirty-five grandchildren, seventy-seven great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; four sons, Robert, Charles, Joe and Paul Heeke; a daughter in infancy, Mary Ann; two brothers, William and August Braunecker; and one sister Rose Rogier.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8:00 p.m. CDT and Thursday from 7 to 9:30 a.m. CDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. CDT in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
