Andrew J. Vogler, 86, of Jasper, Indiana passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Andrew was born on August 24, 1928 to John and Bertha (Hopf) Vogler. He married Mary Ann Beck on April 30, 1953 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. Andrew was Army Veteran who served in Korea. He retired from Precision Cutting Tools in Jasper and previously worked at Jasper Veneer Mills. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #147, and the V.F.W. Post #673. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, watching baseball, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Vogler of Jasper; three daughters, Diane Friedman and her husband, Glenn, of Santa Claus, Victoria Merkel and her husband, Michael, of Jasper, and Bonita Blessinger and her husband, Frederick, of Kokomo; two sons, Stephen Vogler and his wife, Kathleen, of Jasper and Rick Vogler and his wife, Cindy, of Haysville; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Sander, of Celestine and Marita Sullivan and her husband, John, of Sahuarita, Ariz.; one brother, Charlie Vogler and his wife Eileen, of Ireland.

Preceding him in death is one grandson, Nathan Merkel.

Funeral services for Andrew J. Vogler will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Joseph Parish will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m.
