Amy C. Ackerman, 97
Amy C. Ackerman, 97 of Jasper passed away at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday (December 21, 2011) at her home in Jasper.
She was born at Dubois, Indiana on September 27, 1914 to Hampton and Elizabeth (Stamm) Pinnick. She married Robert E. Ackerman who preceded her in death on June 19, 2000.
Amy retired from the Jasper Glove Company where she had worked for many years.
She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – Women of the Moose and the Bainbridge Home extension Club.
She was an avid Bingo Player and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Surviving are two daughters,
- Mrs. Charles (Sue) Kempf, St. Anthony, IN
- Mrs. Jim (Linda) Ruhe, Ferdinand, IN
Nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchild and one great great grandson also 3 step grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are one son Robert J. Ackerman.
Four sistders, Ida Seremersheim, Emma Scholl, Cora Lardie and Joyce Lask also 5 brothers, Joseph, Edward, Herbert, Ralph and Walter Pinnick.
Funeral services for Amy Ackerman will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (December 24, 2011) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday (December 23, 2011) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
