Amos Philmore Hemmerlein, 85, of Jasper, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Amos was born in Jasper, Indiana, on May 5, 1938, to the late Jacob and Mary (Thimling) Hemmerlein.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, farmed the Hemmerlein family farm, and was a construction worker with the Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, hunting mushrooms, travel, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Scott (Tamara), Kim, and Skyler (Emily); stepchildren, Justin (Amber) Porter and Pam Porter; and grandchildren, Tirani, SaraJessica, Jacob, ChloeElise, Preston, Rachel, Jessie, and Payton. Also surviving are his sister, Marcella Laughlin; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hemmerlein; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Amos was preceded in death by siblings, Willis who was killed in action World War II; Edward; Leola, who died in infancy; Alfred; Margret Zehr; Eugene; Helen Mann; Harold; Elizabeth Ledbetter; and Viola Pride.
Family and Friends may gather from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 5, for visitation with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Redemption Christian Church, 1450 Energy Drive, Jasper, IN 47546.
