Amos C. Weisheit, 84

Amos C. Weisheit, age 84 of Haysville, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the Providence Home and Health Care Center in Jasper, IN.

Amos was born on March 26, 1930 in Haysville, IN to Edward and Katherine (Neukam) Weisheit. He married Martha Bauer on May 24, 1956. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2012.

Amos worked at the Haysville Mill for many years and then retired from JOFCO Plant 2.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, and a 27-year member of the Haysville Fire Department.

He was a member of Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and playing cards.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana Weisheit of Dubois; two grandchildren, Suede Weisheit and Tanner McCarty; two brothers, Linus Weisheit and his wife Sarah, and James Weisheit, both of Jasper;  three sisters; Marie Thimling of Haysville, Mildred Noble and her husband Donald, both Haysville and Mable Woolsey and her husband Bob, of Dale.

Preceding Amos in death besides his wife is one son, Daniel who died November 26, 1990, one sister Vernelda Mauder, and two brothers, Cletus and Lester Weisheit.

Funeral services for Amos Weisheit will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Haysville, IN. Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. service time at the church on Friday.
