American Legion Post #147 donates $10k to Back Pack Buddies

American Legion Post # 147 donated $10,000 to Back Pack Buddies recently.

Back Pack Buddies is a local charity that provides snacks and food items for about 500 Dubois County elementary school children each week. This food is sent home with them to utilize over the weekend or for recess snacks.

The donation will help pay for the food supplies to help Back Pack Buddies in its mission

The students being helped attend Jasper Elementary School, Ireland Elementary, Pine Ridge, Huntingburg Elementary and Holland Elementary (Northeast Dubois students receive help from a different charity).

“Thanks again to American Legion Post # 147 for the very generous donation,” Mr. Whitten stated in an email.
