Amber Mundy awarded Tonya Heim Nursing Scholarship

Amber Mundy of Huntingburg is this year’s recipient of the Tonya Heim Nursing Scholarship.

Amber works as a case manager at Memorial Home Care plans to obtain a BSN degree. This year Amber will receive $1,500 to help her achieve her nursing degree.

Multiple scholarship applications were completed and submitted to the Memorial Hospital Foundation office by the March 1 deadline. A panel of three judges read the applications and selected Amber as the recipient.

The first priority of this scholarship is to provide assistance to RN employees of Memorial Hospital who are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited advancement program toward a BSN degree; second priority is to provide assistance for advancement to an MSN degree; third priority is for a DNP or Ph.D. nursing degree; and final priority is for assistance for those pursuing advance practice degrees, including but not limited to, NP or CRNA.

Tonya Heim is the vice president of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Memorial Hospital.
