Amanda Jo Klem, 32, Mariah Hill

Amanda Jo Klem, 32, of Mariah Hill, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville.

Amanda was born in Indianapolis on December 7, 1991, to Steve and Susie (Harpenau) Durcholz.

She married Theodore “Ted” R. Klem on Sept. 21, 2019, in St. Henry Catholic Church.

Amanda graduated from Southridge High School in 2010. She worked as a Ranch Hand at Santa’s Reindeer Ranch and was a member of the St. Meinrad Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Amanda was a giving and caring person. This showed in her service to her country as a security forces officer in the United States Air Force, her community as a Spencer County Jailer and Sheriff’s Deputy, and as an organ donor.

Amanda touched the lives of everyone she met and brought joy to all of those around her. Her infectious smile and laugh livened up any room she walked into. She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and camping, and also loved spending time with family. Amanda was so proud to be a mother to Madison and was wonderful at doing so.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Klem; infant daughter, Madison Klem of Mariah Hill; her parents, Steve and Susie (Harpenau) Durcholz of St. Henry; three sisters, Heather (James) Jankowski of St. Henry, Krystal (Justin) Luker of Holland, and her twin Tracy (Jason) Haycox of Santa Claus; her maternal grandparents, Ray and Sadie Harpenau of St. Henry; one nephew and five neices.

Amanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dennis and Patricia Durcholz and her aunt, Stacy Durcholz.
