Alvin Eugene “Gene” McKim, 67, Bristow

Alvin Eugene “Gene” McKim, 67, Bristow, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at 5:15 p.m. CST at his home in Bristow.

He was born December 15, 1948, in Uniontown, Indiana to Alvin and Agnes (Wright) McKim. He married Lora Ann Coleman on May 19, 1967, at Bethany Christian Church in Doolittle Mills.

Mr. McKim attended Oil Township High School in his youth. He worked for the Millwright Union, where he retired. He was a member of Foster’s Ridge Christian Church in Uniontown.  He loved attending church, visiting with family and friends, playing cards and fishing.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Agnes McKim; three brothers, James Edward “Jim” McKim, Fredrick “Ray” McKim, and Danny Dale McKim.

He is survived by his wife, Lora Ann McKim of Bristow; two daughters, Jean Ann “Jeannie” McKim Smith of Bristow and Charolette Fay McKim of Tell City; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Eugene “Bobby” (Alexandria “Alex”) McKim of Doolittle Mills; 10 grandchildren, Derek D. Fieth, Dustin A. Hensley, Blake A. Hensley, Tiffany R. King, Heather N. Montgomery, Zackary A. McKim, Alijandrea N. Sadler, Dalton R. Madley, Delilah A. Madley, Hayley M. McKim; 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Alvin “Gene” McKim will be held at 4:00 p.m. EST Friday, September 2, 2016, at Foster’s Ridge Christian Church in Uniontown (located at 26548 North Indian Lake Road, Bristow, Indiana) with burial to follow at Doolittle Mills Cemetery in Doolittle Mills, Indiana. There will be a pitch-in meal following the burial at the Foster’s Ridge Christian Church.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. EST Thursday, September 1, 2016, and also at Foster’s Ridge Christian Church two hours prior to the funeral service on Friday.
