Alma Louise Hatfield, age 90, of Velpen, Indiana, passed away at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

She was born June 3, 1922 in Pike County, Indiana to Prentice and Alta (Peach) Evans. She married William Hatfield on August 27, 1938 in Vincennes, Indiana.

Alma was a retired furniture factory worker and homemaker. She was preceded in death by: her husband, William Hatfield, who died May 20, 2006; three sons- Wayne, David and Lowell Dewayne Hatfield; one brother, Clyde Evans; two sisters, Mona Berry and Vivian Nolan; and one son-in-law, W. Neal Brittingham.

She is survived by:

Two daughters and one son-in-law,

  • Marion (Bernie) Williams – Velpen, IN
  • Joyce Brittingham – Noblesville, IN

Three sisters,

  • Veda Lee – Princeton, IN
  • Wanda Russell – Kokomo, IN
  • Penny Williams – FL

by 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Alma Hatfield will be held at 1:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 am-12:30 p.m., on Monday, prior to the graveside service.
