Alma Kordes Oser, 90, Huntingburg

Alma Kordes Oser, 90, of Huntingburg, passed away at 9:02 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born October 28, 1927, in St. Anthony, Indiana to Frank and Theresa “Lilly” (Brosmer) Kordes. She married Robert C. Oser on September 4, 1954, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Alma worked at General Electric in Tell City, Gossard’s and Yogi’s Liquor Store. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality, and a founding member of the V.F.W. Post #2366 Auxiliary.  Alma was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Oser, Sr., who died September 28, 2015; and five brothers, Willie, Raymond, Albert, Ernest, and Clarence “Mick” Kordes.

Alma is survived by seven children, Pamela (Randy) Gehlhausen of Jasper, Robert C. (Kathie) Oser, Jr. of Holland, Bill (Theresa) Oser of Brownsburg, Chris (Scott) Beckman of Jasper, Keith (Denise) Oser of Holland, Jeff (Brenda) Oser of Huntingburg, and Shane Oser of Huntingburg; by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Alma Oser will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT Monday, October 1, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday.  A V.F.W. Post #2366 Auxiliary memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, with a parish rosary prayer vigil held immediately following.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, V.F.W. Post #2366 Auxiliary or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
