Alice C. Schnellenberger, 103
Alice C. Schnellenberger, age 103, of Huntingburg, passed away at 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.
She was born December 24, 1908 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Anton and Margaret (Lubbehusen) Knust. Alice worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg for 15 years and when she retired she cared for the sick in the home. She was a member of: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Ladies sodality, Saint Meinrad Chapter of the Oblates of St. Benedict, Daughters of Isabella, and St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Oscar J. Schnellenberger, who died in 1976; two daughters, Dorothy Schmutzler and Judy Schnellenberger; one brother, Albert B. “Tony” Knust; four sisters- Olivia Knust, Freada Link, Frances Hagemeyer and Catherine Merder; and one grandchild.
She is survived by:
One son and one daughter-in-law,

One daughter and one son-in-law,
- Vivian (Joseph) Fischer – Birdseye, IN
by (12) grandchildren, (28) great grandchildren, (1) step great grandchild, and (1) great-great grandchild.
Funeral services for Alice C. Schnellenberger will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Huntingburg.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Friday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday afternoon, at the funeral home.
