Alfred J. Schwartz, 92
Alfred J. Schwartz, age 92, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 7:55 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
He was born October 28, 1920 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Herbert Nicholas and Frances K. (Stetter) Schwartz. He married LaVenia Susan Padgett on November 27, 1941 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.
Alfred was a farmer and also worked at Jasper Wood Products where he retired after 42 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.
Alfred was preceded in death by: his wife, LaVenia Susan Schwartz, who died May 22, 2004; and two brothers, Urban Schwartz and Albert G. Schwartz.
He is survived by:

- Gerald W. Schwartz – Jasper, IN
- Terry L. Schwartz – Jasper, IN
Two Daughters,
- Darlene S. Hassfurther – Ferdinand, IN
- Judith Ann Greulich – Shepherdsville, KY
One brother,
Hilbert F. Schwartz – Huntingburg, IN
by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Alfred J. Schwartz will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Huntingburg).
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Charles Health Campus or the St. Louis Zoo.
