Alfred D. Dreher, 90

Alfred D. Dreher, age 90, passed away at 11:12 p.m. Thursday, (June 20, 2013), in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born in Gary, Indiana October 4, 1922 to George & Helene Dreher. He married Shirlene Magers June 16, 1958 at Valparaiso, Indiana.

Alfred was a WWII Army – Airforce veteran . He was a Hump pilot and flew missions in India and China. He served in the Air Force for 13 years. Then became and an Air Traffic Controller for 24 years at the Chicago Center.

His hobbies were fishing, golfing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, hunting and hiking.

He was a life member of the V.F.W. and Hump Pilot Association and a member of the Jasper Gun Club.

Thomas Dreher and wife Linda, Keystone Heights, FL

Douglas Dreher, Angelica, NY

Twelve grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is one daughter, Jayetta Moser.

Funeral services for Alfred Dreher will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery. The Rev. Jane Hillman will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 will conduct military grave side rites.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. Monday until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper.
