Albertina E. Marks, 95

Albertina E. Marks, 95, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Albertina was born in Jasper, Indiana on July 11, 1919 to Jacob and Rose (Sermersheim) Schneider. She married Ralph Edward Marks Sr. on September 5, 1942 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.

Albertina was a homemaker, seamstress, and child caregiver. She was member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Sodality of the Blessed Virgin of Holy Family, and the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church D of I.  She loved flower-gardening and sewing. She also enjoyed going on drives, cooking, and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Rosie Henriott and her husband Jay and Mary Ann “Annie” Stone and her husband Ronald, all of Jasper; five sons, Ralph Marks Jr. and his wife Judy of Seven Hills, Ohio, Thomas Marks of Loogootee, Anthony “Tony” Marks of Evansville, Bill Marks and his wife Eileen of Jasper and Pat Marks and his wife Karen of Celestine; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, are one son, John Leo Marks; one grandson, Jacob Marks; and two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Schneider.

Funeral services for Albertina E. Marks, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana.

Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Blessed Virgin Sodality and the Jasper D of I will pray a rosary at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
